Bellrock is a management company that works as part of their client’s team to deliver value for money across a range of facilities and property management services. They engage and manage the best-fit local, regional and national supply chain partners in order to deliver services tailored to the evolving needs of their client’s estate. Bellrock firmly believe in flexibility, transparency, shared objectives and independence.
Bellrock had a number of paper based processes within the rate card, job sheet and invoicing space that they wanted to automate. They were looking to streamline their business process to provide themselves and their supplier’s efficiencies, which would in turn be beneficial for their clients. They were in need of a solution that could easily scale to match the company’s growth, as well as looking to benefit from cost savings through improved governance.
Dot Net’s application development team created a system aptly named Lens. This provided Bellrock’s several thousand suppliers with the ability to submit costings and invoices for jobs in a paperless process. This means that the suppliers get greater transparency and an improved turnaround time for feedback when making bids. The centralised store of information allows Bellrock to manage and optimise labour rates and material costs. They can easily add or remove rules based on a number of factors to meet the unique needs of each of their clients. Running on the Microsoft stack, it could easily scale to match the company’s growth, vital for sustainability going forward. Following Scrum, an Agile methodology, Dot Net delivered working software with each iteration during the project. This allowed full system integration and user acceptance testing to begin much earlier in the process. This enabled feedback to be reviewed and changes made with minimal rework and disruption to the development process, expediting timescales.
“Dot Net were very impressive. The project was run in an Agile fashion, thus every two weeks we received a review and a demo of what they had created. This allowed us to feedback to Dot Net who then incorporated that into the next iteration. They also reviewed and prioritised any backlog on a frequent basis throughout the project to ensure that we received maximum value. Lens proved invaluable, streamlining our processes and saving time and money for us, our suppliers and ultimately clients. It was a pleasure to work with Dot Net’s friendly and experienced application development team.”
